Dear Alumni Brothers,

Sorry it has been a long time since our last letter; we have all been busy and getting adjusted back to school. We would like to thank all of you who attended our 50th Anniversary was a great success and it was great to see you all. We are pleased to inform you that we currently have seventeen Brothers, four Pledges and we are expecting a large spring class. The University has gone through many changes since you have been back, the campus looks great. Presently we have two brothers living in our new campus owned house at 802 Woodrow Ave, this is located directly across from our old house. The majority of the other brothers live on campus.

As you may know or may not have heard, our large sphinx that has been on campus since 1957 was stolen and destroyed by Marketplace management. That sphinx was created by a Beta Lambda Alumni brother who worked for High Point College at the time. The employees of Marketplace management have admitted to taking it and there excuse was “It was in our way.” They took our property with out consulting or even telling the University or the Chapter. We have asked the University for some help regarding our sphinx and are awaiting their response.  We are now pursuing legal matters regarding the theft. We would really appreciate any help possible; we will keep you informed with more information once we receive it.

Seeing over 200 Alumni in High Point to celebrate 50 years of Delta Zeta achievement was an overwhelming experience. I have to say that I have not been involved with a more rewarding project. Over a year of planning and involvement from numerous volunteers ended in a truly memorable weekend.

I hope the next 50 years are as rewarding as our first 50 years.

GOLFERS - Oak Hollow Golf Course will NOT allow us to bring our own coolers/beverages on Saturday. Plan on arriving no later than NOON on Saturday, to allow for registration and “swing doctor” help - if necessary.  Please bring CASH ($40) for the green/cart fees.  Email “Doug.Ballister (at) bell-lewis.com” if you’d like to play golf on Saturday, April 14th and/or sponsor a hole.  A portion of the sponsor proceeds will be donated to the March of Dimes.

Our cutoff date for online payment has been extended to Friday, 04/13.  We will be accepting payments at the door on Saturday, but would prefer that everyone pay in advance.  Click the “Pay Now!” link on the left side of this page for details.
